Adrienne Washington
Investigative Journalist | Multimedia Reporter | Storyteller for Impact
I am an award-winning, internationally syndicated investigative journalist and multimedia reporter with a passion for uncovering wrongdoing and telling impactful stories. I recently completed the Roy W. Howard Center Fellowship at The Maine Monitor, where I focused on in-depth accountability reporting for rural communities, from a statewide perspective. My graduate capstone project, In the Sheriff We Trust—a collaboration between the Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting and the Howard Center—won the 2024 Los Angeles Press Club A-Mark Prize for Reporting on Misinformation and Disinformation, as well as two EPPY Awards. This project reached over 145,000 unique views through the Associated Press wire.
Using tools such as Adobe Suite, along with AP Style, data analysis, and narrative reporting, I have produced original work for various local and national outlets, including The Los Angeles Times, The Seattle Times, The Associated Press, ABC News, and MSNBC. I am currently open to both freelance and full-time opportunities in journalism, communications, and media strategy.

I’ve curated a selection of my most recent and memorable work as an investigative journalist. My goal is to produce meaningful work that positively reflects and impacts the communities I cover. These articles highlight my ability to explain complex topics to the public while also determining factual and important information.

It was a reporting priority for our team to secure an on-camera, in-person interview with a key source of our investigation and a main priority as the lead field reporter to pursue.
